The Work of the Devil?

The Work of the Devil?

Hi Anthony,

I was raised super religious and taught that psychics, horoscopes, anything like that was the devils work and to avoid at all costs. Not to offend, but you know that’s what most teach. What is your thought on that?

I know you and have known you for a very long time so I know that is not true of you, but how does someone with those beliefs and background reconcile that? Just wondering your thoughts?

Carmen

Hi Carmen,

Thanks so much for asking this question! I originally wrote a really long answer, then I remembered what the souls are constantly trying to tell me – I don’t have to prove anything, or change anyone’s mind. My job is to simply share what I’ve learned from doing this work. That being said, I’ll answer your question primarily from the work I do.

I’ve been accused of being in league with the devil more times than I can remember. Usually, I’ll say, “If that’s the case, Satan picked the wrong guy to do this work, because I’ve been delivering the messages all wrong.”

I’ve also been told that the souls who come through during sessions are really demons masquerading as the loved ones of the people who come to me for readings. If that’s what’s going on, they’re even bigger boobs than I am, as far as doing this work goes.

Several years ago I did a reading for a young woman whose boyfriend was murdered when he tried to leave the gang he was in. When he came through, after providing enough details about his life to assure her it was really him, he told her he was at peace with what happened and had forgiven those who murdered him. He also kept insisting that he wanted her to not only forgive his killers, but to pray for them, as well!

Personally speaking, even I was amazed at the peace, and joy, this young man was radiating. The only thing that seemed to be troubling him was the idea that someone might try to avenge his death!

“He wants you to call off, literally call on the phone, anyone who has said they’re going to get revenge for his murder. He doesn’t want anyone else to die because of this. He wants you to promise him that you’ll do this.”

That’s hardly the attitude I would have expected from a “demon” pretending to be someone they’re not.

People have come to me for readings who have lost all faith in God, and tell me later that their faith has been restored after hearing from their loved ones. People who thought that life wasn’t worth living found the strength to keep putting one foot in front of another after hearing that their husband, wife, son or daughter isn’t lost to them, but walking beside them. I’ve seen relationships repaired, after a parent on the Other Side asks their children to forgive them for what they did, while they were here in this life.

Love is a much greater force than all the acts of evil ever done, put together. Love is the reason the souls want to communicate with those they left behind. Love is the reason God wills, and allows, communication between the souls and their loved ones to happen.

I believe that most people who say what I do is the work of the devil, are sincere in what they believe, but misinformed, and afraid. I just wish that they would put aside their fears, get a reading themselves, and see if they still feel the same way afterwards.

Every time I do a reading, and I see hope rising out of the ashes of despair, I know God is the source, not some “devil,” and it’s how I reconcile what I do with the anger, and ridicule, that’s occasionally directed towards me, for doing it.

Blessings,

Anthony

Now I’m not one to read books that mediums put out because frankly, I think most of them are fake. But when my cousin said she had purchased the book and read it, I decided that I should take a look at it and see what it was all about. My curiosity got to the best of me. Let’s just say the book opened my eyes. It made me a believer in the afterlife again and in Anthony as a genuine medium. Melissa Pepples
