"How far is Heaven?"

“How far is Heaven?”

I would like to know exactly where the afterlife takes place. We look to the heavens in prayer, so is the afterlife high up past the clouds and sky? I thought about that last year on a flight to Europe.

We hear of different dimensions and realms but what are they? When someone passes on do they step out of their body and thru a door that only opens at death? It is hard to wrap my mind around these issues, but maybe this is where faith comes into play, we know that there is life after death but where it takes place is a secret of sorts, we have faith in God but what he looks like is a mystery to us mortals, does any of this make sense ~ I have not been blessed with any gifts of communication to departed souls.

I know that I can talk to my departed loved ones and wonder if they hear me because I can’t hear them answer back in words. I don’t know about signs, people find feathers and so do I but couldn’t they be from birds that have flown over?

If our loved ones can see us why can’t we see them? What exactly divides us?

Barb,

I love these questions! In all honesty, I could, and have, talked for a couple of hours answering questions like this in seminars, but I’ll (try to at least) be brief!

I would like to know exactly where the afterlife takes place.

There’s a story about a fish who heard of something called “water.” This fish became obsessed with finding out where this thing call “water” is, so it asked other fish about it. The other fish admitted they didn’t know where to find “water,” but one of them suggested he ask the wise old fish for an answer.

So the fish went to the wisest fish in the ocean and said, “I’ve heard of this thing called ‘water’ and I was told you can tell me where I can find it.”

The wise old fish looked at him, and laughed.

When night falls, what happens to the light? Where does it go? No where. Darkness and  light are the same energy, but light vibrates at a much higher rate.

Life on the Other Side vibrates at a much higher rate than here. That’s why we can’t see it, even though it’s all around us. We walk around in the dark thinking what we can see is all there is to see.

We are surrounded by the love of God and the souls the way fish are in water. On of the reasons we aren’t aware of this is because we believe that we’re separate from God. It’s this feeling of separation that caused us to want to come here to begin with. To learn that we’re not separate from God at all.

These lessons are learned in the joys, triumphs, trials of difficulties of our lives. In the people we love, and who love us, and in those we hurt, and who hurt us.

We look to the heavens in prayer, so is the afterlife high up past the clouds and sky?

One saw mud, the other saw stars.”

We look to the “heavens” when we pray because it represents us looking up with hope and faith, especially when we’re feeling down. The souls constantly say that they’re not in some place far away, but that they’re closer to us on the Other Side, than they ever could have been while they were here.

We hear of different dimensions and realms but what are they?

When the souls speak of “dimensions,” think of different grades in school. Each grade represents what we’ve learned, what we are learning, and what we can learn. Ultimately, some of the souls earn their Ph.D. s which represents complete union with the Eternal Light of Love. They are “one with God.”

When someone passes on do they step out of their body and thru a door that only opens at death?

The souls often compare giving up their physical body at the moment of death to shedding wet, heavy clothing. They talk about feeling a freedom that made death a relief. They also say that death is as simple as walking out of one room and into another. They say that whatever fears we have about dying are completely untrue.

That doesn’t mean they walk through a door, or enter through “Pearly Gates” however. The transition is so subtle, that many souls have told me they’re surprised they “died” to begin with. They talk about transitioning from this life to an even “greater life,” but not realizing it until they see loved ones who have gone before them.

I know that I can talk to my departed loved ones and wonder if they hear me because I can’t hear them answer back in words. I don’t know about signs, people find feathers and so do I but couldn’t they be from birds that have flown over?

Many people think that when I’m reconnecting their loved ones with them during a medium session that I’m having a conversation with them. I wish it were that simple! Most of the time they’re  communicating with me through feelings and emotions. The same way they do with you.

Any “verbal” communication comes through as a thought. Except I normally don’t think, “I died from cancer.” “Say, Natalie.” Or, “I loved cooking and was good at it.”

Another way they communicate with me by showing me symbols. If I see candles, I know they are talking about prayers. If I see a car accident, it could mean that they died in a car accident, they died accidentally, or that someone here was in an accident.

“Signs” such as feathers are physical ways that the souls communicate with you the way they would communicate with me in my mind. Could the feather have fallen from a bird in the sky? Absolutely! But it’s the soul inspiring you to think of them when you see it that makes it a “sign.”

If our loved ones can see us why can’t we see them? What exactly divides us?

I cannot stress this enough. Nothing divides us from those we love on the Other Side.

As I said before, light and dark are the same, one just vibrates at a higher level than the other. It’s the same with those of us still here, and those who have gone on before us. Again, we believe in the illusion of separateness, because we walk around in the dark thinking that what we can’t see doesn’t exist.

Those on the Other Side have the advantage of seeing “clearly,” and want us help us because they can see what we can’t.

What they want us to know is that there’s a reason for everything that happens in our lives, and it’s to help us grow spiritually, moving up a “grade,” or two or three … when we return back home.  Their hope is that by communicating with through signs, and mediums such as myself, that we won’t give up hope, but keep putting one foot in front of the other until we’re reunited once again, in Heaven.

Blessings,
Anthony
